Rare Art Deco Children’s Chair by Pander, Netherlands, 1930s

A rare Dutch Art Deco children’s chair by Pander, dating from the 1930s. The chair is marked “533,” identifying it as a Pander production. Constructed from solid oak and stained hardwood, the design is defined by its strong geometric lines, architectural construction and beautifully balanced proportions.

Despite its small scale, the chair has a remarkably sculptural and highly decorative presence. The combination of warm oak, the darker seat and bold horizontal and vertical elements gives the piece a distinctive character typical of Dutch Art Deco furniture.
