Rolled Marble Coffee Table by Poul Kjaerholm for Fritz Hansen, Denmark, 1990s
An iconic PK61 coffee table designed by Poul Kjaerholm, one of the most important figures of Danish modernism. The design is defined by its rigorous geometry and exceptionally refined construction, combining a slender satin-brushed stainless steel frame with a beautifully understated white marble top.
The square marble top appears almost to float above the minimal steel structure, emphasizing Kjærholm’s fascination with proportion, material and architectural clarity. The subtle natural veining of the marble gives each surface its own character while preserving the restrained elegance of the design.
